Brian is Managing Partner and head of the firm’s Corporate, Banking and Restructuring department.
He qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and joined the firm in 1999. He specialises in company and commercial law with a particular emphasis on mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and banking law. He has specialist knowledge in the area of commercial law, corporate restructuring and insolvency law.
Brian advises the firm’s institutional and private sector clients on various elements of their commercial requirements. His commercial expertise and experience includes advising both companies and investors on private capital fund raisings and exits to include management buyouts, review, drafting and negotiation of trading terms and conditions, general contracts, intellectual property issues, employment law, share ownership schemes, shareholders’ agreements, partnership and joint venture agreements. Brian also acts for a number of Charities based in Ireland.
Brian has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting banking and security documentation for financial institutions and private clients as well as advising financial institutions on options for restructuring, enforcement and recovery.
Brian is a member of INSOL Europe and the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners (ISIP) and has wide-ranging specialist experience of the legal aspects of corporate and insolvency issues. He has advised insolvency professionals in a number of liquidations and receiverships.
Brian also has considerable experience in dealing with competition law issues and has represented numerous businesses and individuals faced with Competition Authority investigations.
